Warp3-FONTS # 1 - 5 <<< FONTS COLLECTION for AMIGA and IBM PC user. >>> <<< SETS 1 to 5 >>> Text: (txtFonts/) Banging Crévindjou Cubi Cubi Bold Freetime Futurs XBlack Les Poings Sur Les Ouïes Liquid Crystal Display Rascal Topic Waterman Scanned: (scanFonts/) Ancien Monde Callig Quad Lettrines Lettrines Solid Mikkos Script Fee Clochette Fee Clochette Bold Fee Clochette Black Pictures & Symbols: (pictFont/) Web Smiley * All supplied fonts are made by me (part with my A1200, part with UAE). They are original and 'complete': Capitals, lowercase letters, symbols, euro (set to currency symbol (¤) location). How to get (generally) the currency symbol via the keyboard: Amiga: "Alt y". IBM PC: "AltGr $" . These fonts are done from scratch, except for "freetime" and "Leigh Extended" fonts. Some "scanned" fonts are not optimized at all and may have a huge number of control points, hence their big size. * When it states 'complete font' you should translate by 'almost complete'. Some chars may stay empty (e.g. tilde '~' in .type, 'fl' in .ttf). No font is ever complete. Monotypes 'TrueType outlines' fonts come with several typesets in one (unicode) though they don't have EVERY nationals characters in it. * Enclosed: Fonts .type (CompuGrafic 'Intellifont') for Amiga. Fonts .ttf (True type format) which come in 2 flavours: Amiga TTF and PC TTF. Fonts .pfb (Adobe Postscript type 1, hinted) for Amiga. I have no use of the pfb files. Feel free to e-mail me any bug report/comment about them, or to ask me for .afm or Postscript type 3 versions to: Warp3@caramail.com Grabbing more glyphs (characters & symbols) from TTF depends on your computer system. About encoding chars: on Windows based system, TypeSmith (Softlogik) table chars for TTF looks OK with the chars grabber utility, but it's a mess in connection with main Windows softwares. So a PC TTF version was made. I like TTF being both compatible with windows and amiga based system. Unfortunately, the TTF made with TypeSmith (partial Latin 1 code) are not fully windows complient. So I had to drop down several characters and replaces others in PC TTF. For example, 'oe' and 'euro' chars are not always at their respective place. * See the preview picture file for a quick glance to the fonts. Use thereafter the TTFtools to see them further. TTFtools (by Richard Griffith) is a lovely truetype font engine software for Amiga computers, to show or install TTF fonts. You can download it from Aminet or from http://ragriffi.home.sprynet.com/ * Permission is granted to you to use the stuff, if you don't plan to make financial profit out of them. Aminet staff may put the stuff on CD, DVD for selling (if apt). * Read the attached files to find out more information and full condition of use. * Building fonts takes time: from many months to... one second! You can make good fonts in no time with very good softwares. I didn't use them. Call me a "masochist". Amiga, Windows, Apple, Unix, Linux, etc... are: a cute spanian girl, frames with glass, a fruit, a "cross off" UniMultivac, a "cross off" Linus Torval, and among other things, imperfect computers systems. So I don't give a dime to quote them. Bill Gate(s) (TM) is owned by me. Why not? Anyway, enjoy the fonts! To the free/shareware fonts makers: please do a readme file for every generic font you've done, with the same name than the font (.txt). This is very handy when archiving. To the distributors: please keep the text files attached with the fonts when spreading them. Thank you.
